August 11th, 1973 marked the birth of Hip-Hop, this was the night DJ Kool Herc threw his sister Cindy Campbell a back to school party in their building located in the Bronx at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue & Kool Herc isolated the breaks with his turntables. Coke La Rock was at the party on the mic, rapping, rhyming, calling out names and more. Coke La Rock was also a DJ and would DJ at these events.

On July 18th, 2025, Coke La Rock, the first emcee in Hip-Hop history, will be in Atlanta for an exclusive live interview, meet-and-greet, and Q&A session at The Atlanta Theater. This unforgettable event dedicated to The Father Emcee will celebrate Coke La Rock’s pioneering role in the birth of Hip-Hop and offer fans a unique opportunity to engage with the legend himself. The evening will Lucky Bling, La Rock’s business associate and graffiti artist, offering rare insight into the early days of Hip-Hop and their collaboration in shaping the culture. The discussion will be hosted by Lord Owen, a respected figure in the Hip-Hop community, with sounds by DJ Aladdin providing the soundtrack for the night.
