Cook it Up Studios was founded in 2016 (8 years ago from this post) by Noah Miller aka Supertouch and operated by Billboard charting producer and engineer Gabriel Pearson aka Mixedbygabriel in Brooklyn, NY. Located in Brooklyn, New York, Cook It Up Studios’ rate is $70 per hour and includes an in-house engineer. “Our big thing is really giving every one the time and attention they need to create the best music whether they’re independent or a label client, they will get the same top of the line gear and treatment. We figured out a way to give the same equipment that this big studios have that charge over $100 an hour for a fraction of the price.” Gabriel tells us. The studio has a 20k vocal chain, Manley Reff Mic, Lauten Audio Atlantis, Sony C100.

Cook It Up Studios has had a wide variety of artists record at the studio over the years. Their past clients include: Lil Kim, Coi Leray, Conway, Westside Gunn, Trap Beckham, Jay Critch, Dream Doll, 22gz, Ro Ransom, Chaz French, Illmind, and many more.

We asked Gabriel what inspired him to start his studio, he told us, “there also isn’t enough recording studios that primarily focus on high level hybrid mixing and mastering and we do that’s are main focus is mixing and mastering
our studio was built specifically for mixing and mastering and we just happened to make it so you can also record at our space.”

“My studio means everything to me, it’s my home my baby I don’t want to mix or master anywhere else because I know this room like the back of my hand.” Gabriel tells us.

We also asked them about future plans for the studio “Plans for studio is more awards on the wall which we have two coming in currently, building with new artist and bigger artist and new talent, and also building out the space expanding.”

“I found out about Stufinder from a fellow engineer.” he added.

Studio 17 was founded in 2017 by Ack Jones “I manage artist and producers and felt like creating a hub for my creators and other creators around NYC. A home a hub.” he says. Studio 17 is open 24/7 and was in East New York Brooklyn but with the recent expansion, the studio moved to its new location on Flushing Ave, still in Brooklyn, NYC, the Bushwick area.

Tunnel Suite also known as A Suite is $150/hour, B Suite is $100/hour, C Suite is $80/hour, all studio rooms include an in-house engineer.

A lot of drill rappers recording out of the studio in Brooklyn. Studio 17’s past clients include Pop Smoke, Summer Walker, Sheff G, Polo G, Sleepy Hallow, & many more.

Popular Pop Smoke records like “Welcome to the Party”, “What you know about Love”, “Something Special”, “Got it on Me” and many more were recorded at Studio 17.

Located in the Syracuse, NY, SubCat Studios was initially founded in 2001 in Skaneateles, NY, and later relocated to Syracuse in 2011. This move transformed the studio into the widely recognized and respected creative space it is today. SubCat Studios has three studio rooms; Studio A is $70/hour, Studio B is $60/hour, Studio C is $45/hour, all studio rooms include an in-house engineer. SubCat Studios’ past clients include Future, Lil Tjay, Scorey, Adrien Brody, Patton Oswald, Tim Tebow, Rich Redmond, Vinny and Carmine Appice, Tim “Ripper” Owens, and many more.

SubCat Studios was founded by Ron Keck, due to the rise of technological advancements in audio engineering around the late 90’s and early 2000’s. “SubCat Studios represents a cornerstone in the Central New York community for both musicians and the arts in general. SubCat Studios has done a lot of voiceover work for television networks and films. A few examples of voiceover work done here include Law & Order SVU, the new “Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder,” America’s Most Wanted, and Naked & Afraid. Recently, they completed some ADR work on Charlie Day’s film “Fool’s Paradise,” the trailer for which was released this week.

We asked Cody what’s the funniest thing that’s happened at the studio he told us, “Our engineers’ versatility often leads to fascinating interactions between various music genres. Our studios are situated on opposite ends of the main hallway, and one day we had a metal band in Studio A and a rap artist in Studio B. They must have crossed paths in the hallway because, before we knew it, the metal band’s vocalist was in Studio B, collaborating on the hook for the rap artist’s song.

The interaction during the recording was hilarious, as it’s not a typical genre blend you’d expect to see. However, witnessing such a unique collaboration unfold served as a reminder that the potential for creative connections between musicians is endless.”

Cody Slade tells us that “Efforts are underway to establish an Arts Corridor in Syracuse, turning old buildings into spaces for art-related businesses. Our building is the proposed starting point for the corridor, and with the help of some private parties, we’re working to bring animation and larger post-production projects to Syracuse.”

“As the Arts Corridor project progresses and more businesses emerge within it, I think many of them will find it helpful to use Stufinder as their main booking platform.”

Scorey started off recording most of his tracks in Studio C before he got his break and relocated to advance his music career to the next level.
