Noise Gate (also known as “Gate”) is an audio processor that cuts off the volume of an audio once it passes below a certain volume threshold. Noise Gate is basically used to control the volume of an audio signal, it eliminates sounds below a given threshold in a recording.

It’s job is to lower the volume of low and unwanted audio peaks.
