VBR stands for Variable Bit Rate.

Opposite of CBR (Constant Bit Rate), VBR (Variable Bit Rate) refers to the encoding of an MP3 or lossy audio file bit rate changing with the type of content in the file.

VBR is great for maximizing audio quality while still saving file space.
