A control on a compressor determining how much the gain will be reduced after the audio hits the threshold.

Ratio is a control on a compressor determining how much the gain will be reduced after the audio hits the threshold.

I.E. if a signal surpasses the threshold by 8dB and the ratio is set at 2:1, it will reduce the audio by 4dB.
